Applying to change your supervisors or advisor (pastoral)
You can follow this process if you wish to apply to change your supervisors or advisor.
You are encouraged to come and talk to the Doctoral Academy or PGR Advisor (Pastoral) where relevant about your situation before applying to change your supervisory team, you can contact the Doctoral Academy Progression Team to arrange an appointment. This will help us to determine if it is the most suitable option for you.
Before you apply to make any change, you should have:
- read and understood the Supervision Policy for Postgraduate Research Degrees;
- discussed your plans with your Doctoral Academy, your supervisor(s) and your Head of PGR;
- discussed any potential ATAS implications that a change might have with the Student Immigration Team (if you are an international researcher).

Please download and complete the Change your Supervisors or Advisor (pastoral) Request Form below. Once completed, submit the signed form as an attachment via email to the Doctoral Academy Progression and Welfare team.
