Applying to submit your thesis early

Follow this process if you wish to apply to submit your thesis early.

Full time postgraduate researchers are permitted to submit three months before their submission deadline (pro-rata for part-time PGRs) without having to complete and submit this form.

Researchers who are granted permission to submit early will still be required to pay full fees for the degree period for which they originally registered before an early submission will be accepted.

Before you apply to make any change, you should have:

• discussed your plans with the Doctoral Academy support team and your supervisor(s);
• referred to the terms and conditions of your funder (if applicable) regarding any implications of early submission.

Next steps

Upon submission, your application will be processed and reviewed by University Student Support staff who will contact you with the outcome as soon as possible.
