Your research group

During your time at Manchester, you will become part of a research group based in the relevant Department or Institute.

An important feature of the postgraduate researcher experience is joining a research group who are all specialists in their chosen field. The research group provides a forum for close support and guidance, and it should become one of the many rewarding experiences of your research programme.

You will interact with other postgraduate researchers in your research group, and usually with other academics and postdoctoral researchers. You can learn a lot through these interactions and in many cases, your research project may involve your participation in a wider research team, often including external collaborators.
