Electronic submission of your thesis
The University has adopted the mandatory submission of electronic theses for all postgraduate research students.
Electronic submission is made via eThesis and is accessed via My Manchester. Scroll down to ‘PGR Services’ and click on the link for ‘eThesis submission’.
Your eThesis window should now close on your deadline date. If there are any issues with your submission window closure date, please contact the exams team.
Requirements
- You are required to submit a pre-examination AND post-examination (corrected) version of your thesis electronically.
- You are required to submit your electronic thesis as a set of metadata and a PDF file for each version. The maximum PDF file size that can be submitted is 50 megabytes.
- You are required to use the University's My Manchester Service to complete your electronic submissions.
- You can only submit your electronic thesis when you have an open electronic submission window.
- The electronic submission window will be opened once your supervisor has submitted their Notice of Submission Form in eProg.
- The Doctoral Academy Exams Team retain the right to open and close submission windows and set the duration of the submission window at any time.
- Only authorised University staff i.e. administrative support staff, librarians, supervisors and examiners, will have access to the pre-examination version of the student's thesis. The University will retain this version for internal administrative purposes.
- The University aims to preserve and store electronic theses in Manchester eThesis, indefinitely.
