Get a head start on your application and attend our PhD Virtual Information Sessions live on YouTube on 5-6 February 2026
Our application experts and current researchers will be on hand to give their advice and answer your questions about projects, funding and more.
There will be two sessions, one with our admissions team and one with current PhD researchers. You can either or both, just be sure to book your place at each session first.
How to Apply: PhDs, funding, admissions and Q&A – Thursday, 5 February, 12:00-14:00 GMT
Admissions experts from our Doctoral Academy will be taking you through the application process step by step. Covering key topics such as finding a project and securing funding, this comprehensive session will be followed by a Q&A session with current PhD researchers.
Research across countries – UK, India and Japan – Friday, 6 February, 10:00-11:00 GMT
The University of Manchester offers the opportunity for PhD researchers in the Faculty of Science and Engineering to study in partnership with other institutions across the globe. Attend this session and explore the possibility of a truly global postgraduate research journey.
